22 On Sloane is thrilled to announce the launch of its Game Development Studio in partnership with Eskom Development Foundation, a space that is designed to empower startups, entrepreneurs, and gaming enthusiasts. This initiative exemplifies 22 On Sloane’s dedication to support entrepreneurs and gaming enthusiast by helping them launch and grow their businesses while strengthening Johannesburg’s gaming ecosystem.

 

The Game Development Studio will offer startups and gamers a range of resources, such as a PC gaming section, a VR station, and a podcast studio. Additionally, ten (10) selected gaming startups will participate in an intensive capacity-building programme that includes workshops, masterclasses, mentorship, and business coaching. The studio welcomes the public to explore the space during the day and on weekends, fostering a vibrant and dynamic gaming community.

 

“We believe the Game Development Studio will grow the ecosystem, build innovative products, expand the industry, and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs,” said Bongani Ntombela, Director of Programmes at 22 On Sloane. “Gaming and gamification play a pivotal role in developing sectors and skills in South Africa, including software development, virtual and augmented reality design, and artificial intelligence engineering.”
